This document describes the planned sponsorship levels for the Utah Open Source Conference 2008

All values are subject to change at anytime without notice.

Sponsorship Levels

Below are definitions of the sponsorship levels for the 2008 Utah Open Source Conference. Basing on growth and our attendance from last year, we expect between 350-500 attendees over 3 full days.

All sponsorships below must provide at least 50% of the sponsorship in actual currency, except the General Sponsor which must provide 100%. The other 50% may be provided in goods or services to the conference. Examples from last year included printers, computers, staff and food. There is always room for negotiation with regard to the services.

As we did in 2007, projectors will be used to display a slide show of sponsors in each of the rooms. This year, we will have Room Managers to also announce the sponsor of the room and their booth location as appropriate. Banners will placed as appropriately as possible.

All Sponsors

All sponsors (except General Sponsors) will receive at least the following items as part of the sponsorship:

Top Tiered Sponsors

Diamond, Sapphire and Emerald sponsors will also receive the following benefits until two months prior to UTOSC 2009:

Diamond Sponsor

Benefits

Cost: $3000

Sapphire Sponsor

Emerald Sponsor

Cost: $1000

Keynote Sponsor

Specifically targeted at providing sponsorships for the Keynote presentations. There will be 3 hours of keynotes, plus the theatre will be used for some larger of the fun events like the troubleshooting challenge. Banners will be prominently placed in the theatre.

Cost $750

Utah Open Source Awards Sponsor

Last year, there was an opportunity to nominate several individuals for excellence in three basic areas. This year, the awards will be expanded to four areas all relating to open source in Utah. The categories are: education, community, technology and community.

This is a prime opportunity for a sponsor to stand up in front of the crowd and share why they felt it is important to recognize excellence with the members of our community.

This is also a great opportunity to provide a short presentation about your company and its sponsorships.

Cost: $750

Other Sponsorships

UTOSC 2008 is willing to discuss most other offers. Each will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Our evaluation will consider two things.

Feel free to offer sponsorships for t-shirts, catering, badges and lanyards, etc. These items are an easy way to get your name in front of 400+ attendees in 2008.

Booths

UTOSC 2007 only had availability for three booths which were quickly snatched up. UTOSC 2008 will be different in that there should be approximately 15 booths available. Something like 1/3 of those booths will be given to non-profit entities like the GNOME foundation or the Fedora Project. The other 10 or so booths are available to anyone who provides a sponsorship above.

Efforts will be made to push the flow of traffic through the atrium area at the college where the booths will be set up along one wall. Along the other wall will be food and banners and the like.

A booth is provided automatically for the Diamond Sponsor at no extra charge. All other sponsors may rent the booth at a cost of $600/booth for 10x10 and $350/booth for 5'x10'. All booths are first come first serve.
